The Green Bay Packers signed tight end Tucker Kraft to a four-year, $75 million contract extension worth up to $92 million on Thursday, just one day before their regular-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.
The deal includes a $26.5 million signing bonus and has an average annual value of $18.75 million in base salary, with $17 million available in incentives throughout the four years. At its maximum value, the extension would pay Kraft $23 million per year.
"ESPN sources: Green Bay TE Tucker Kraft and the Packers reached agreement today on a four-year, $75 million extension worth up to $92 million that includes a $26.5 million signing bonus," ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on social media. "Kraft's agents Jack Bechta and Ryan Hays of JB Sports just signed off on the agreement."
Kraft was entering the final year of his rookie contract after establishing himself as one of the top tight ends in the NFL. The timing of the extension reflects the Packers' urgency to secure their core players before the season begins.
Championship Window Signal
The extension represents more than just securing a key offensive weapon. According to reports, general manager Brian Gutekunst and executive Russ Ball have now locked up virtually every projected starter on the roster for multiple years, signaling that Green Bay's championship window extends well beyond the 2026 season.
The deal follows the Packers' typical contract structure, with the signing bonus serving as the guaranteed portion while offering significant upside through incentives. This approach allows the team to maintain financial flexibility while rewarding performance.
Kraft's extension comes as the Packers prepare for what many view as a crucial season. With most of their core players now secured for the long term, the organization appears committed to building sustained success rather than making short-term moves.
The tight end will look to justify his new contract immediately as Green Bay opens the 2026 season against division rival Minnesota, a game that could set the tone for their championship aspirations.
